What does the Gamestop rebranding mean for Edge card users? Will everything stay the same?

There will be no changes to The EDGE program at this time. All the same benefits you have come to enjoy will remain the same. Your existing EDGE cards will remain active and still work! Newly branded cards will be forthcoming for new memberships or renewals.

What will GameStop be called in Quebec?

We will be operating as GameStop in Quebec as well.

Will Gamestop Canada have the same prices as GameStop in the United States?

No, prices will remain in Canadian Dollars.

Will stores that have permanently closed re-open?

Unfortunately stores that have been closed will not re-open for business.

Will you get the same Gamestop Exclusives?

We currently share and will continue to have access to some of the GameStop US exclusives while securing Canadian Only exclusives as well.

Does this mean EBX stores will be renamed?

All EBX locations will be branded GameStop.

Is this just a temporary brand change? You've tried this before in the past.

This is a permanent logo change. Previously we had tried a dual brand strategy that quickly highlighted the need to focus on one major brand in the Canadian market.

Can I have one of the old store signs?

We are currently evaluating several options for the EB Games store signs, including an auction for charity. Stay tuned!

Will your policies (i.e. Return Policy) change to match Gamestop in the United States?

Our policies will remain unchanged as they have been created specifically for the Canadian customer.

Will you be carrying Gamestop apparel now?

Yes, we are in the process of putting together an apparel offering – stay tuned!

Will EB Games gift cards still work?

Yes, any gift cards purchased for EB Games Canada will continue to work after the brand change.

If I preordered an item at EB Games, will the pre-order move to GameStop?

Yes, pre-orders will remain active, and will not be impacted by this change.

Will you now have the same release dates for your products as GameStop US?

Release dates will not be impacted by this change. Some products will have the same release dates as GameStop in the US, while others will not.

Will you get GameStop exclusive stickers on your products, or will you continue to use EB Exclusive stickers?

Stickers will be updated to “GameStop Exclusive” before the end of 2021.

Will you still offer $5 Fridays?

Our Canadian promotions like $5 Fridays will not be impacted by this change.

Will you get Gamestop Exclusives faster now?

Availability for GameStop Exclusives will remain the same after the change.

Will my controller warranties still be honoured?

Yes, all purchased warranties will still be honoured after the change.

Why are you changing the name to GameStop?

We feel it’s the perfect time to align the brand with our US parent company, given the investment GameStop is making in service, experience and technology. You are the priority and we wanted you to benefit from all the amazing things yet to come!

Will you ship orders from to the US now?

No, we will continue to ship orders received at to Canadian addresses only. Please visit to place an order for a US mailing address.

Will your website be upgraded?

Yes! We will be continuously making enhancements to our website moving forward. Stay tuned for updates!

Will you finally have retro consoles and games

We will continue to evaluate the retro space, however previous tests proved that Canadians weren’t supportive.

Will you get the same sales and promotions as GameStop in the US? For example, Deal of the Day promotions?

Our promotions in Canada will remain unique to Canada at this time.

Will you get better trade in deals?

Our base trade values and trade promotions will remain unique to Canada. We are always looking to improve our trade offers, and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future.

Pre-ordering products for in-store pickup is fast and easy. First, ensure you’re logged in on, and simply add eligible pre-orders to your shopping cart using the "Add to Cart" button. In your shopping cart, click on the "Pre-order online & pickup in-store" button to continue. A $5 deposit is required to ensure your product is reserved for you in-store. Please be aware that regular in-stock merchandise are not eligible for pickup in-store.

You’ll need to select an GameStop store where you’ll pickup your order. You can do this by using the map feature at the checkout and searching by city, store address, or postal code. Once your order is placed, you cannot change your selected store. You will receive an order confirmation by email and a call from the store once your product arrives. At that time, you’ll be required to pay the balance of your order at the store.

If you would like to cancel your pre-order, please visit the store that you directed the order to. An associate will be more than glad to assist you with the refund.

Please note that your order details will not be visible to the associates at your pick-up location immediately. Details will be sent within 24 hours of placing your order.

All orders for Digital products are manually checked by our team prior to approval. If your order is placed outside of normal office hours (Monday to Friday), this may delay processing of your order.
